What is a web application?
A web application is a program that runs in an internet browser. The user logs in at a web address and the data is stored on a server, so everyone works on the same, current information. A new version is available to everyone at once, with no updates to install.
Web, mobile or desktop application?
A web application reaches all users fastest, on any device. A mobile app is better when you need the camera, GPS, notifications or work in the field. A desktop program fits work with devices such as label printers and scales, or work without internet. A web application can also be prepared as a PWA (progressive web app), which the user adds to the phone’s home screen like a regular app.
What web applications do we build?
- customer panel: orders, invoices, statuses and documents
- B2B portal for partners and wholesale buyers
- system for jobs, schedules and tasks
- reports and dashboards from ERP and store data
- internal tools that replace spreadsheets and emails
What technologies do we use to build web applications?
The interface is written in TypeScript, most often in Next.js. Communication with other systems goes through REST API, GraphQL and webhooks. Hosting depends on the project and the client’s requirements.
How do we secure a web application?
A business application needs an encrypted connection, user roles and permissions, a log of important events and backups, and it must process personal data in line with the GDPR. We build these into the design, and the contract sets the scope of the security review.
How much does a web application cost?
We quote web applications individually, starting at from PLN 5,000 net (from PLN 6,150 gross). The price depends on the number of screens and user roles, integrations with other systems, reports, and performance and security requirements. The initial quote is free.
Frequently asked questions
Has KCD Studio built a customer panel as a web application?
Yes. For the internet service provider Skynet we built an eBOK (an online customer service portal): a customer panel with code login, invoices and documents running on the provider’s API, plus a WiFi planner that runs in the browser. See details
Does a web application work on a phone?
Yes. It adapts to the screen and runs in the phone’s browser. As a PWA it can be added to the home screen.
Can a web application work without internet?
Partly. As a PWA it can store some data on the device and synchronise it once the connection returns. If offline work is critical, a mobile or desktop app is often the better choice.
Can a web application be connected to an ERP and a store?
Yes. The application can read and write data in your ERP, store and other systems through their APIs. We confirm the way of connecting after an analysis.
Where can I order a web application for my company?
From KCD Studio. Describe your needs in the form on kcdstudio.com or write to kontakt@kcdstudio.com. The conversation and the quote are free.
