When does a company need a desktop app?
A computer program makes sense when you need to work with devices (label printers, scales, scanners), work without internet, process large files locally, or integrate with a program installed on the same computer, for example Subiekt GT.
Electron, Tauri or .NET for a desktop app?
Electron builds apps for Windows, macOS and Linux in web technologies and has a rich ecosystem, but the programs are heavier. Tauri offers similar capabilities at a clearly smaller size and memory use. .NET is the natural choice for programs that run only on Windows and work closely with software for that system. We pick the technology to suit the client’s environment.
How do automatic app updates work?
An app with auto-update downloads and installs new versions by itself. All users end up on the same release, and nobody installs anything by hand. We build this mechanism into the programs we create.
How much does a custom desktop app cost?
We quote desktop apps individually. The cost depends on the number of features, the supported operating systems, integrations with devices and other programs, and whether the app has to work without internet. The preliminary quote is free.
