WordPress or a custom website: which to choose for a business?
WordPress suits a company that wants to add content often by itself and needs ready-made plugins. A custom website, built for example in Astro or Next.js, suits cases where speed, security and an unusual design come first and the content changes less often or is edited in a separate CMS panel.
Headless CMS or traditional WordPress?
In traditional WordPress the admin panel and the website are one system. In a headless model the panel is used only for editing, and the website is built separately and pulls the content through an API. Editors keep a convenient panel, and the website can be fast and freely designed. The cost is a more complex rollout.
WordPress or Astro for a company blog?
A blog in Astro loads very fast and needs no plugin updates, but new posts are added through a CMS or as files. A WordPress blog is more convenient for people who know its panel. With a few posts a month both work well. The difference shows in speed and maintenance costs.
WordPress cannot cope with traffic: should you move to a custom website?
Not always. First check caching, hosting, the number of plugins and the size of images, which are the most common causes. A move to a custom website makes sense if the site is still slow after those fixes, or if maintaining plugins takes more time than writing content.
